Mama Maggie’s life is a living testament to the timeless wisdom of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
As Mother’s Day approaches, we should celebrate our own mothers and honor those extraordinary women whose maternal love extends beyond biological bonds. One remarkable figure is Mama Maggie, the founder of Stephen’s Children, an organization dedicated to uplifting the lives of children and mothers in the garbage slums of Egypt. Affectionately known as “Mama Maggie” by those she serves, her story is one of unwavering love, compassion, and hope.
Mama Maggie’s journey began when she made the decision to leave behind her privileged lifestyle and give up her material possessions to dedicate her life to Jesus Christ by serving the most vulnerable children in her community. In the garbage Slums of Egypt, where poverty and despair are rampant, Mama Maggie saw children living in unimaginable conditions with no access to necessities. Yet, these children, with their resilience and hope, inspired her to make a difference, leading to the founding of the organization Stephen’s Children.
