Gala Travel Info

Located between 12th and 14th Streets, NW on Constitution Avenue, the Mellon Auditorium is directly across the street from the National Museum of American History and is entered through three doorways in deeply channeled limestone. The grandeur of the Andrew W. Mellon’s exterior is matched only by its opulent interior. Limestone-finished walls and piers define the space and frame views of the east and west staircases, lobby, and breathtaking auditorium that stands more than 60 feet high, embellished with limestone pilasters, gilded relief carvings, and polished oak.
